Understanding the Correct Procedure to Apply the Polyurethane Wood Floor Paint

Polyurethane wood floor paint is much in vogue these days, which makes it extremely essential for a common man to understand the fundamentals of using polyurethane-based paints. To be precise, polyurethane wooden paints can be divided into two types- aromatic and aliphatic. It is believed that aliphatic polyurethane Wood Floor Paints are resistant to UV light and remains unaltered for a longer duration, as compared to the aromatic counterpart. However, whenever you choose to apply the paint on the wooden floor, or prefer to use the garage floor paint or skid-free paints, on the high traffic areas, you will have to take care of the following points:


  • Initially, applying the paint on a small area helps in testing the color, and makes some changes in the color, if required. Moreover, it helps in ensuring that the paint does not react negatively with your floor surface, and let you know that how much time it is going to take for setting up the color.

  • Choose a right paint brush or applicator for ensuring proper coverage.

  • Take care of painting across the edges, and make sure that your use right strokes to avoid staining the walls.
