Understanding the Correct Procedure to Apply the Polyurethane Wood Floor Paint

Polyurethane wood floor paint is much in vogue these days, which makes it extremely essential for a common man to understand the fundamentals of using polyurethane-based paints. To be precise, polyurethane wooden paints can be divided into two types- aromatic and aliphatic. It is believed that aliphatic polyurethane Wood Floor Paints are resistant to UV light and remains unaltered for a longer duration, as compared to the aromatic counterpart. However, whenever you choose to apply the paint on the wooden floor, or prefer to use the garage floor paint or skid-free paints, on the high traffic areas, you will have to take care of the following points:

Initially, applying the paint on a small area helps in testing the color, and makes some changes in the color, if required. Moreover, it helps in ensuring that the paint does not react negatively with your floor surface, and let you know that how much time it is going to take for setting up the color.

Choose a right paint brush or applicator for ensuring proper coverage.

Use mineral spirit to clean up the wooden surface before you start applying the wood floor paint, polyurethane paints for garage floors, or anti slip paint.

Take care of painting across the edges, and make sure that your use right strokes to avoid staining the walls.

Keep consistency in applying coats to the entire surface. Special care must be taken regarding coating the garage floor paint, because garage floors are likely to bear much wear and tear.

Let the paint stand for sometime, and if possible it would be advisable to allow the paint to dry for 7-8 hours or at least 6 hours for getting the best results.

Remember, we generally apply anti slip paint in those regions which remains wet or moist most of the times, and there are chances of slipping or falling down while walking on such floors.
